Morgan & Morgan Gives Back to the Community This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an opportunity to spend time with loved ones, and appreciate the roles they play in our lives. Our attorneys at Morgan & Morgan will be spending Thanksgiving around a table with their friends and families, but they know many people in the communities they serve are not as privileged. In an effort to continue working for the people, our offices have teamed up with charities around the South to make sure as many people as possible have a Thanksgiving meal.

One of the efforts we are proudest of is the food drive conducted in our Tampa office. Staff members there organized a food drive for Metropolitan Ministries, an independent nonprofit located in the city.

Metropolitan Ministries helps underprivileged and homeless families in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Polk counties by providing everything from food to housing, and all of life’s other necessities that fall in between. We were able to help out by coming together as a firm and donating 1,242 lbs of food.

When all was said and done, our staff had managed to fill several large barrels with a variety of food. There were 50 frozen turkeys, boxes of fresh food, and numerous cans of nonperishable foods to name just some of the items that were donated.

Our charitable efforts were not just confined to Tampa, though.

Our office in Atlanta also participated in providing food to those who may not have been able to get all the “fixings” for a proper Thanksgiving meal on their own.

Each year, Positive American Youth, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children through entertainment, sports, and education, hosts a free turkey giveaway. In the past our very own Justin D. Miller sponsored the event, and he continued the tradition this year.

The event was very successful and hundreds of free turkeys were given to Atlanta families in need.

Other offices have participated in giving back this Thanksgiving, and we are proud of what each one has done. At Morgan & Morgan, we pride ourselves on being “for the people,” but that slogan goes well beyond the courtroom.

We are for the communities that house our offices. We want to see them succeed and flourish just like our firm, and our work around the Thanksgiving holiday is one of the small ways we can help make that happen. We look forward to watching our firm grow along with the communities that give our offices a home.
