William Gwaltney

Trial Attorney

Bill is a native of Tallahassee where he attended Leon High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Bill returned to Tallahassee where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Florida State University then received his law degree from Mercer University. Following law school Bill and his wife moved to South Florida where he worked on behalf of insurance companies and corporations in a variety of areas including defense of auto and premises liability negligence cases. He returned to Tallahassee in 2008 and added defense of government entities to his list of experience.

Bill finally recognized his true calling and brought nearly 20 years of experience representing insurance, corporate, and governmental entities to Morgan & Morgan. This experience is key to his aggressive and diligent representation of individuals who have been injured due to the negligence of others. He is rated “AV-Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubble, a peer review attorney evaluation service which is the oldest attorney rating service in the United States. An “AV-Preeminent” designation is the highest available and is “a testament to the fact that a lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence."

Bill is married to his high-school sweetheart and is the father of one daughter. When not fighting against his former clients, Bill enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, attending Florida State athletic events, and serving in his church. Bill is also on the ACT Board of the Young Actors Theatre, and serves as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem providing a voice for children in foster care.
