Ronald C. Small

Biography Overview

Ronald C. Small is an attorney in the trial law firm of Morgan & Morgan in the Fort Myers office. Mr. Small began his legal career as an Associate Attorney in a Topeka, Kansas law firm. In 1991, Mr. Small joined the United States Air Force serving his country as a Judge Advocate. He retired in 2016 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 1999, Mr. Small joined a Gulfport, Mississippi law firm practicing personal injury litigation. In 2000, Mr. Small began service as an Assistant Federal Public Defender. Mr. Small represented defendants in the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Louisiana (New Orleans) and the Middle District of Tennessee, (Nashville). Mr. Small retired as the First Assistant Federal Public Defender in 2024.

Mr. Small is committed to public service, serving his community as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., an organization which promotes academic excellence, service, and advocacy to the community. He has also served as the Chairman of the 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, an organization committed to the growth, nurturing and development of young Black males in Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area. Mr. Small received his law degree from Washburn University School of Law, Topeka, Kansas in 1990 and his Bachelor of Science degree from Wichita State University in 1987.
