Mitchell Hastings

Biography Overview

Attorney J. Mitchell Hastings grew up in Oneonta, Alabama. A lifelong musician, Mitchell attended Belmont University in Nashville where he studied Political Science and Music Business. During college, he clerked at several law firms and gained a wide variety of exposure to the legal world. This experience inspired him to pursue a legal education. Mitchell attended the University of Alabama School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate.

Mitchell has handled a truly wide variety of cases. As a young attorney, Mitchell gained experience by representing homeowners against mortgage servicers. He also participated in large-scale environmental litigation and complex commercial litigation on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. Later, Mitchell began working in a defense practice where he handled cases involving general defense, insurance defense, commercial litigation, and medical malpractice. Mitchell then joined a mass tort firm in order to represent plaintiffs in complex commercial litigation, pharmaceutical/defective drug litigation, and injuries. Today, Mitchell proudly serves in Morgan & Morgan's premises liability group.

Mitchell enjoys spending time with his wife, Megan Hastings, and trying to keep up with their two young sons. Mitchell is licensed to practice law in Alabama, and all Federal District Courts in Alabama.
